WELCOME
The Chinook
Equine Association
(CEA), located in North Eastern Oregon along the Columbia River, is a
group of horse people who have formed a publicly supported, member based,
non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of Equine Sports and
Activities. Equine shows of all caliber, which are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC,
are held at various locations throughout the Columbia River Basin. You
might never have heard of the CEA, or you've participated in our recognized
events before and know all about us. In either case, we welcome each and
every one of you to our web site. Feel free to look around.
The CEA depends upon the generosity of
the public to carry on its mission. Sponsorships,
donations and volunteers are desperately needed. Anything you can give
would be greatly appreciated. If you wish to become a sponsor for
individual shows, for our Championship Show, for our End-Of-Year Awards/Banquet
or donate items for our Silent Auction, please contact
an officer or download the sponsorship form from our
Printable Stuff section and mail it. We also accept items to be used
for our annual raffle. Past year's raffle items have included a filly
yearling horse and two Dirk Godby prints. In 2007, our raffle income helped
pay for over $1200 worth of scholarships. In 2009, we're still waiting to
have something donated which could be used for a raffle.
Even though all shows are open to the
public, the CEA's End-Of-Year points system is reserved for CEA members in good
standing. There are several membership packages available which include
Individual, Family, Voting and Lifetime memberships. Membership dues help
support the CEA's endeavors to provide safe, friendly and fair competitions which
in turn help support the communities in which they are held. In addition, a
portion of every membership directly supports the CEA's Youth Scholarship program
which is paid out annually. Membership benefits include discounts on gate
fees at CEA hosted shows and clinics as well as some other locally sponsored
events. Our membership application is available in the
Printable Stuff section.
CEA membership
renewals are due on or before the Championship Show in October of each year.
There is NO grace period and points will not be back-dated if you forget to
renew.
Remember, if you need directions on
how to get to any of the CEA recognized shows, events or clinics, which again are
ALL OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, please see the
Driving Directions link on the left or contact one
of the officers for specifics.
We wish everyone a happy and
prosperous new year, and good luck in your show season. We hope to see each
and every one of you at our participating shows, clinics, the Championship Show
and the Year-End Banquet.
